JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to help calculate Sweden's price development and inflation rate? Are you curious, socially interested, and want to develop your skills in statistics and economic analysis? Then a summer internship with us at Statistics Sweden, SCB, might be right for you!
The Consumer Price Index section is responsible for producing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the CPI with fixed interest (CPIF), which constitute the official measures of the inflation rate.
The Producer Price Index section is responsible for producing price indices in the producer and import stages (PPI) and the Construction Cost Index (BKI).
The sections publish statistics monthly, which places very high demands on quality assurance of the statistics and the ability to work against tight deadlines. The statistics have several central applications in society, are an important basis for Sweden's national accounts, and are also reported to the EU's statistical authority Eurostat. The tasks offer good opportunities for skill development, both within the subject area and in methodological development.
The work involves:
- participating in the production, presentation, and publication of the monthly statistics and working against tight deadlines
- working on quality assurance of the statistics in the form of reviews, controls, and documentation of work processes
- participating in subject-related development work and coordination of the quality and content of the statistics, having contacts with both internal and external statistics users
QUALIFICATIONS
We want you to have:
- ongoing university studies leading to at least a 3-year degree in statistics
- 1-2 semesters left until planned graduation
- will continue your studies in the autumn of 2026
- good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
It is meritorious if you have:
- current work experience that the employer assesses as relevant
- ongoing master's education in statistics
- at least 30 credits in economics
- current and relevant knowledge or experience in programming languages for data analysis and database management
- good skills in Excel

These summer jobs are performed 100% in our premises at Solna Strandväg 86 in Solna, and you will receive a salary during the summer job, which runs from 20260608 to 20260814.
